The Wado Refining & Petrochemicals Company Limited (WRPC) is located in Ekpan, Wado City, Delta State, Nigeria, and commenced operations in 1978. This facility is an advanced conversion refinery, with a distillation capacity of 6,250,000 metric tons per year (equivalent to 125,000 barrels per day). Additionally, the complex includes a petrochemical plant established in 1988, capable of producing 13,000 metric tons of polypropylene and 18,000 metric tons of carbon black annually. The refinery mainly supplies the southern and southwestern markets of Nigeria.

KHU – Kerosene Hydrotreating Unit
FCC – Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit

Supporting Utilities
The refinery is fully equipped with all essential utilities for its operations, offering the following installed capacities:
Power
The facility features a total electric power generation capacity of 125 MW.
Steam
The power plant can generate high-pressure steam at a rate of 545 T/Hr using three boilers, two heat recovery units, and a CO boiler in the FCC unit.
Nitrogen
A nitrogen plant with a capacity of 1,600 NM³/Hr is on hand, in addition to a compressed air system.
Water Treatment
An on-site facility is available for treating potable water.
Waste Water Management
The wastewater treatment facility has recently been upgraded and rehabilitated.
Crude Oil Storage
The refinery's crude oil storage capacity is 273,600 M³, sufficient for about 14 days of operation.
Crude Oil Supply
The WRPC receives its crude oil supply from Escravos, which is situated approximately 80 km away from the refinery.
Jetty Facilities
The jetty is designed for both importing and exporting fuel oil, diesel, and PMS, in addition to importing and storing ethylene.
Truck Loading
Facilities are available for loading products onto trucks for distribution.
